What We Believe

1. BIBLE
We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, consisting of the sixty-six Old and New Testament Books, verbally inspired in all parts, and therefore, wholly without error in its original manuscripts (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).

2. GOD
We believe God exists eternally as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Luke 3:22; Matthew 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14). They are all one in essence but distinct in person.

3. JESUS CHRIST
We believe in His preexistence, deity-equal to the Father and Spirit- (John 1:13), incarnation by virgin birth (John 1:14; Matthew 1:18-23), sinless life (Heb. 4:15), substitutionary death (2 Cor. 5:21), bodily resurrection (Luke 24:36-43), ascension into heaven and present ministry of intercession (Heb. 4:14-16) and His coming again to set up his 1000 year kingdom (Acts 1:11; Revelation 20).

4. HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is a person or possesses a personality, not a force. He thinks, feels, and makes decisions (Ephesians 4:30; I Cor 12:11). He is also co-equal to the father and Son (Acts 5:3-4) since He shares in the same essence of God in terms of being omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.

5. MAN/SIN
We believe he was directly created by God and made in God’s image (Gen. 1:26-28). Man is a sinner by nature and choice, under God’s wrath (John 3:36) and in need of salvation (John 3:35).

6. SALVATION
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. One must repent of their sin and trust alone in the death and Resurrection of Christ to be saved (Acts 20:26). Good works do not save you, but give evidence that you are saved (James 2:14-26). They are a by-product of true saving faith, and not a requirement to be saved. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

7. CHURCH
We believe the church is not a building but is made up of true believers who have trusted in Christ alone for salvation. It is the body and the bride of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-32), composed of all true believers of the present age (1 Cor. 12:12-13).  We believe in organizing its members into local churches for worship, for edification of believers, and for worldwide gospel witness; each local church is autonomous but cooperating in fellowship and work with others (Eph.4:11-16).

8. ORDINANCES

We celebrate the bread and cup (communion) once a month on Sunday morning, baptize individuals as needed or when requested, and participate in a 3-fold communion service three times a year on a Sunday evening, where we partake of the bread and cup, eat a meal together and have a brief foot washing ceremony as outlined in John 13. All are invited to come but are not required to attend.

9. THE DEVIL
We believe that Satan is a personal spirit being who leads a host of demons to blind men to the truth of the gospel (II Cor 4:4) and take them captive to do his will (II Timothy 2:25-26). Furthermore, he seeks to oppress Christians and render them ineffective in their commitment to and service to Christ (I Thessalonians 2:17-18).  He, along with his minions, will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:7-10).

10. FUTURE DESTINY
We believe in the conscious existence of the dead (Phil. 1:21-23; Luke 16:19-31), the resurrection of the body (John 5:28-29), the judgment and reward of believers (Rom. 14:10-12; 2 Cor. 5:10), the judgment and condemnation of unbelievers (Rev. 20:11-15), the eternal life of the saved (John 3:16), and the eternal punishment of the lost (Matt. 25:46; Rev. 20:15).
